Liam joins Met Geo Environmental after completing a Bachelor of Surveying (BSurv) degree at the University of Otago, the only university in New Zealand to offer a dedicated surveying programme. Alongside his studies, Liam spent several summers working as a surveyor, carrying out topographical surveys and gaining valuable hands-on experience in the field.
Prior to joining the team, he worked for a land development firm, where he gained experience supporting civil design projects, including road development, drainage layouts, and surveying documentation.
With a strong background in surveying software, including CAD and 12d, Liam is looking forward to expanding his technical knowledge and adapting to new workflows and technologies. He is particularly interested in developing his laser scanning skills, an area he is keen to explore further as part of his role with the company.
In his day-to-day role, Liam will be carrying out topographical surveys and mapping site features while continuing to build his experience across a wide variety of projects. He is excited to learn more about the different methods and technologies used across the business, as well as the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging schemes.
Originally considering a career in chemistry, Liam discovered surveying through a careers adviser and quickly realised it was the right fit for him. He was drawn to Met Geo Environmental not only by the exciting range of projects delivered by the team, but also by the opportunity to experience life in Leeds and further his career overseas.
We are delighted to welcome Liam to the team and look forward to supporting his growth and development.
