Met Engineers and Met Geo Environmental worked together to investigate a former landfill site in West Yorkshire. A desk study was undertaken to look at the historical information available on the size and type of landfill. A non-intrusive geophysical survey was then designed to capture as much information as possible on the extents and depths of material. This then provided the data needed to undertake intrusive investigation to confirm the type and extent of fill along with any effects it may have had on potentially polluting ground water and producing gases. Monitoring was undertaken over a period of time. A conceptual site model was then produced with a plan for remediation and potential development of the site.
