November, 20167-8 Wellington Place Scheme Submitted

Detailed plans have been lodged for a new eight-storey office building at the landmark Wellington Place scheme in Leeds based on topographical, utilities and building survey data provided by Met Consultancy Group.

Located in the middle of the Wellington Place estate and fronting Whitehall Road, the proposal, for 7 and 8 Wellington Place incorporates 377,215 sq ft of office space, and 22,125 sq ft for ancillary uses such as shops, cafes, bars and restaurants with 182 basement car parking spaces.

Externally, the property proposes a full-height glazed base with parapet sloping south to north down to seven storeys and has been designed to complement the natural stone and glass appearance of 5 and 6 Wellington Place.

Wellington Place has been shortlisted by the Government Property Unit (GPU) for a new hub in Leeds with an option to adapt the design to meet the needs of the wider office occupier market by creating two smaller office buildings, should the GPU deal not be secured.

Met provided Net Internal Area and International Property Measurement Standards (internal measurement checks for tenancy/lease agreements) to support designs fashioned to meet the requirements of a potential occupier.
