Delighted to see Kirkstall Forge Station opened marking a major milestone in the regeneration of this historic former metalworking brownfield site in Leeds. Met Consultancy undertook extensive land and building surveys of the 57 acre site ahead of initial clearance almost a decade ago, since which the project has ridden out a recession and planning deliberation.
Led by developer Commercial Estates Group (CEG), building work has started at the Kirkstall Forge development, with the first 110,000 sq ft, seven-story flagship office due for completion in 2017. Once completed it will comprise a mixed-use community of 1,050 new homes, 300,000 sq ft of offices and 100,000 sq ft of retail, leisure and community space in a wooded, riverside setting, creating around 2,400 new jobs.
